Shelby County Treasurer's Office - Full Time Deputy Treasurer

Salary: Negotiable based on experience.

Hours: 8:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday

Requirement: Must possess good communication skills and ability to work with the public on a daily basis. Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and other computer skills. Must possess good organizational skills and the ability to process daily mail and collection of tax payments with minimal error by being detail oriented. Basic bookkeeping and accounting skills.

Duties: Process and record all county revenue that comes into the office
Understand the 57 funds and 77 bank accounts and the revenue/expenditures affecting each
Communicate with the various departments that control the revenue/expenditures for these funds Reconcile monthly bank statements for all accounts
Process 38 plus million dollars of property taxes by mail, bank collection or office walk in Distribute tax collection to the taxing districts and provide detailed reports when requested
Sharing the duties and responsibilities within a small department by having an attitude of teamwork All other duties assigned
