Culvert/Entrance Permit Application: Please submit these forms a minimum of 2 business days prior to the construction of the entrance. A aerial map shall also be required to be submitted with the permit. Plat book pages which suffice for the aerial map are available at the Shelby County Highway Department at request. Current County Policy is for the owner to install the entrance at his/her expense, then the County Highway Department will maintain the pipe moving forward. Any extensions shall also require a permit and shall be installed by the owner’s representative as well. Oversize Permit: Please submit these forms a minimum of 2 business days before the hauling is expected to occur. If the load is greater than 80,000 pounds or exceeds load postings, it shall either require a Structural Engineer Sign-Off or approval of the County Engineer. This shall be at no cost to the County.
